The charges for each shipment relate directly to the weight and dimensions you enter. If the actual weight and dimensions of your shipment are greater than those entered additional charges will apply to your initial payment.
Your obligation
When making a booking for a shipment with World Options, it is your responsibility to ensure that all shipment details and provided information are complete and precise. Furthermore, it is expected that you will work collaboratively with World Options and the associated courier service regarding the shipment in question.
Should there be a failure to adhere to the aforementioned requirements, World Options and/or the courier service reserve the right, without limiting additional rights or solutions, to halt any ongoing shipments until the oversight has been rectified. In such instances, World Options will not be held accountable for any expenses or losses you incur as a result of shipment delays or failures. In the event of such a failure on your part, you will be obligated to compensate us for any costs or losses incurred, as specified in a written notice.
Collection
Ensure the shipping label is firmly affixed to the parcel before the courier’s arrival.
Make certain you’re present between the designated ‘parcel ready’ time and the final scheduled pickup time. The ‘latest collection’ time should be set no earlier than 4:30pm to ensure the courier can collect your package.
Please allocate a minimum time frame of three hours between when the parcel is ready and the closing time.
Be aware that morning pickups are not assured, as collections typically occur in the afternoon.
Different areas have specific cut-off times for scheduling collections. These times may differ among carriers, so verify with your selected carrier to confirm the cut-off time for your location.
Delivery
Kindly be aware that, despite certain shipments having guaranteed delivery, a number of regions within the UK and destinations worldwide may not offer this guarantee. Should you require further assistance, please reach out to us.
Shippers must include a commercial invoice for all goods sent to countries outside of the European Union, as it is a mandatory requirement for customs clearance. Parcels lacking this invoice are subject to delays or may even be sent back.
Be advised that customs processes differ internationally. Regular customs inspections can lead to delivery delays. Additionally, customs officials might request extra documentation from the recipient.
In instances where the parcel cannot be received due to the absence of an individual to accept it, additional delivery attempts may follow. Should these attempts fail, your parcel might be sent back, incurring possible charges.
Packaging
Both the sender and recipient can experience significant frustration when items are improperly shipped, so it’s crucial to prioritize careful packaging.
Ensure each item is surrounded by ample cushioning within the container to prevent any shifting during transit, and select a box robust enough to safeguard against external damage. You guarantee that the protective materials used will adequately shield your items from the typical jostles encountered within carrier networks.
Please do not bind or attach parcels together, as this method does not provide secure transportation within a parcel network. Should additional items strapped to an original package become detached during transit, no compensation claims will be entertained for such instances.
You agree to package all items sent via our services in a way that ensures they can endure a minor fall. Our services are not suitable for the shipment of fragile items, which should not be sent through our network given these constraints.
Customer service
The World Options online platform is equipped with comprehensive tracking and tracing features. This advanced automated tool allows you to monitor the status of your consignment throughout its journey. Monitoring the shipment’s progress is under your purview, as individual parcels are not visible to us during the transit process.
Should you require assistance with your shipment, our customer service team is readily available to provide support.
Custom information charges
Purchases made online are subject to the same regulatory framework, tariffs, and inspection procedures as any other imported goods.
Here’s what you need to understand:
Typically, items valued at or below AUD1000 are exempt from duties, taxes, or fees upon entry into the country.
However, starting from 1 July 2018, the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) may be levied by international sellers at the time of purchase for such low-value items shipped to consumers in Australia. Instead of at the customs border, GST will be applied at the transaction point.
For items exceeding an AUD1000 in value, you must complete an Import Declaration and settle any applicable duties, taxes, and fees at the border.
Duties and taxes will be imposed on specific goods, such as tobacco products or alcoholic beverages, regardless of their value.
There are prohibitions or special licensing requirements for the import of certain goods into Australia.
The way your goods are assessed for delivery and any corresponding duties, taxes, or charges will depend on their value and their mode of arrival in Australia.
Goods under AUD1000 in value, not including tobacco, tobacco products, and alcoholic beverages, are categorized as low-value imports. As of 1 July 2018, such goods entering Australia from abroad may attract GST.
Should these goods arrive via air or sea freight, a Self-Assessed Clearance (SAC) Declaration is necessary. This declaration is provided at no cost. When using the services of a freight company or cargo forwarder, they will handle the declaration process.
Prohibited and restricted items
Refer to the carrier’s specific terms and conditions regarding items that are forbidden and restricted.
Typically, hazardous materials are not accepted. For more information, reach out to us directly.
